It has a total of ten provinces(Ontario, Quebec, Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, Sasktachewan, Alberta, PEI ,and British Columbia)  and three territories; Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut. Canada is also a member of the Commonwealth of Nations, meaning that Britain's monarch is the Head of State for Canada.

It is located at the northern part of North America, being as north to Ellesmere Island and south as Pelee Island

Native Period (20000 BCE to 1498 CE)

Native Americans entered Canada via the Bering Land Bridge. Nothing much happened for the next 21000 years. Then the Vikings landed in Newfoundland, but were repelled by the natives living there.

Colonization (1498 to 1812)

The English and French founded summer settlements on Newfoundland in the late 1400s. The French then decided to explore the Saint Lawrence River, as Champlain as the explorer, and founded the colony of French Canada. The French managed to colonize Quebec and Ontario, and western Newfoundland, and the British took eastern Newfoundland, and the southern and western coasts of the Hudson Bay. In one war between the two nations, Britain took Nova Scotia and the rest of Newfoundland. Then, disputes over other lands started the French and Indian War. After the war ended, Britain annexed all of French Canada.

War and Independence (1812 to 1914)

The United States declared war on Britain and British Canada, and there were two failed offensives towards Quebec. In 1815, there was a ceasefire. Over the next few years, the border disputes with the USA were solved. Britain made Canada a dominion but still held on to Labrador and Newfoundland.

World Wars (1914 to today)

During WWI, Canada was on the Allied side with Britain, France, America, and Russia against Germany, Austria-Hungary, the Ottoman Empire, and Bulgaria. During the 1930s, Britain gave Labrador to Canada and gave it total independence. Canada joined the British Commonwealth. In 1939, Canada joined Britain against Germany in WWII. Canada helped with the invasion of D-Day by occupying Juno Beach on Normandy. After the war, Canada joined the UN and NATO. Recently, it has formed a trading union with the United States and Mexico.
