The East European Coalition (EEC) was formed officially in the year 2043, after a near war between the Czech Republic and Yugoslavia. Germany intervened on the side of the Czech Republic, who then requested a union with Germany. Germany accepted, also allowing Poland, Belgium and the Netherlands into the Coalition. The result was one of Europe's great industrial and agricultural nations, since Ukraine lost it's greatest farmland in the Russo-Ukrainian war of 2016. It rivals even Russia, an impressive feat due to the aggressive Russian industrialisation and military foreign policy of the 2050's. Her main European rivals are Russia and Yugoslavia, the former she is on reasonable terms with, whereas there is much tension with the latter.

Following Turkey's annexation of Greece in 2057, the Russian conquest of the Balkans, and Yugoslavia's growing military power, The EEC began to increase it's military, finally conquering Switzerland and northern Yugoslavia in 2061. They cemented relations with the Balkan Empire in 2062, following Belarus' alliance with Ukraine and Rumania. They were especially glad of Great Britain's addition to the alliance, and tolerated Italy and Denmark joining, but secretly made plans to invade both.

Instigation of WW3

In 2071, The East European Coalition further strengthened their ties to Britain by leading the charge against Iceland. Following the British Expansion War The East European Coalition was among the first to accept France's request to join the Balko-Coalition Alliance. They campaigned heavily against Britain's requests to leave France out of the Alliance, and were successful. Unbeknownst to them, France secretly wanted to gain land in Africa, and invaded ISIS' puppet states. This in turn led to ISIS declaring war on France, and the Balko-Coalition Alliance were drawn in.

The Third World War was fought between 2092 and 2099. It caused very little damage to any cities in The EEC, but the cost in life was high. The EEC used its economic might to prevent any trade from entering or leaving ISIS, which was made further effective when Russia entered the war in 2097. The Allies won a total victory, but the EEC gained very little from the War. This angered the Senate, who demanded most of the reparations be paid to them. Britain and The Balkan Empire accepted, seeing that they had gained lots of land during the War.

Inter-War Years

The people of the EEC were still vastly annoyed about the lack of gain from The Third World War. Following a lengthy debate, the Senate decided to invade Denmark. Italy joined in on Denmark's side, but surrendered after the EEC's army nearly reached Rome.

The Coalition joined in the Balkan Empire's attack on Russia, gaining lands in the Baltic, Belarus and Northern Ukraine. However, they lost all Danish land gained as they were left vulnerable to attack from the Scandinavian Union.

In 2119, they were unfairly attacked by The Great Frankish Empire, and were backed up by Britain, Russia and Fascist Spain. They fought The Great Frankish Empire, The Scandinavian Union, and The Balkan Empire, their long-time ally.

The war started with mixed results for The EEC. They created a defensive line across southern France, but lost lots of ground in Italy. However they managed to gain decent amounts of land near Paris and in the northern Balkan Empire. They ground to a halt, making only small gains in land between 2120 and 2123. They accepted Britain's secret plan to win the war and were surprisingly successful, and helped prop up the newly formed Moroccan Republic.

They were arguably the most successful out of all the Allies in the second phase of the War. They annihilated 70% of the Balkan Army at the Battle of Zagreb in March 2125, and were the principal belligerents in the shelling of Athens (January 2126)

They benefited greatly from the War this time, gaining several thousand square km in land and masses of influence in the newly reformed Balkan States, and were the main reason why The Balkan Empire backed down from a Balkan-Thracian conflict.

Post-War Decline

The East European Coalition's economy collapsed in 2150, and this lead to continent-wide depression. Millions of starving East Europeans were made homeless, and refugees from Russia flooded the eastern borderlands. Following the outbreak of the Russo-Scandinavian War (2163) they sold land to Russia to help its ally. Unfortunately, this enabled Greece, Armagnac and Italy to strike, and the battered East European Coalition gave up after only six months of fighting. The Treaty of Venice (2165) had extremely harsh terms whereby the EEC lost most of its land. They were unable to recover for many years.

Conquest of France

The EEC fought a war of vengeance on France, and it was over swiftly. The Siege of Paris alone took under three months. The EEC allowed the nation of Wessex to secede from France, after President Schwarzenegger decided that it was too hard to administer a province that did not border the rest of the Coalition.

Advent of The Horde

The EEC remained peaceful for nearly forty years, carefully rebuilding itself after the devastating wars of the past century. The EEC embargoed Poland heavily for her aggressive expansion into Russia and the Baltics in the early part of the twenty-third century, but did not go any further than that.

The EEC did not bestir herself until the Horde Invasion of Poland in 2226, whereupon President Baumgartner offered the Polish and Bulgarians help in exchange for full dominion over their lands. Reluctantly the Polish accepted. The EEC promptly exited the war, causing the Horde to attack the Algerian Empire, weakening both parties.

However, the merging of the Polish Empire into the EEC was the last straw for some. Fed up with a lack of cultural representation, dozens of separatist movements sprung up in the EEC's extremities. First to go was Yugoslavia, the Coalition's oldest enemy. Within a year eighty-five percent of the EEC's population had declared itself independent from the Coalition.

On the eleventh of September 2230, President Baumgartner signed a document that fully recognised the independence of all former Coalition Republics and renaming the East European Coalition to Germany.

Join us, oh join us.

You never will regret it.

We march on to victory

The EEC holds elections every 6 years for each of it's major parties: The Unionists and The Democrats. The Unionists stand for the poorer regions of the country, while The Democrats stand for the rich. Due to the high quality of life in The EEC, The Democrats usually win, but can't get rid of The Unionists; the constitution demands that there are always two main parties.

The EEC has a Senate, containing five representatives of each province.

Their main focus is armoured infantry. However, the average foot soldier is by no means average. After noting Russia and Yugoslavia's aggressive foreign policies, they began increasing their military.

Their navy leaves a lot to be desired. Almost the entire navy was supplied by Germany, but since their main focus is on mainland Europe, they do not need too much of a navy. They have recently made major cutbacks.

Air Force

The Air Force is where the true force of The EEC lies. It has one of the most powerful Air Forces in the world
