The nations of the world had collapsed one after another after 2058, causing nationalism and imperialism to rise as states had declared their separation from their motherland nation.

North and South Carolina merged into one state, and soon did the two Virginias, Utah with Nevada, Pennsylvania with New Jersey, and New York with other micro-states. Soon after, Mexico and Canada collapsed too. The Carribeans formed The Carribean Empire.

05-24: For the rest of this map game's lifespan, I've seen a few of you complain about how fast the game progresses and how new turns get posted daily. I've done such a thing because it's simply a strategy to keep this game alive for however-long and active. Backstory: After a devastating nuclear war, Canada was crippled, causing states to break away and fracture. A state like Quebec, which was and still is desperate to push aside its past with Canada decided to form a nation in the ashes of what was once called Canada. A man known as Jean Marquette took charge as a ceremonial dictator protecting the new republic (like Napoleon for France), invading nearby areas such as the Maritime provinces and Labrador. However, while invading nearby regions, some regions such as the northeast and southwest were taken by nearby nations, causing much disarray and discontent for Jean Marquette. Cities like Saguenay and Montreal remained part of Quebec, while others like Sherbrooke and Gatineau were lost. After his wars of conquest ended in 2050, Jean ruled over the area until 2058, when an election with Veronique Lévesque elected her as Prime Minister of the new republic.

Backstory: To the provincial government's surprise, neither Calgary, Alberta's largest city, or Edmonton, the provincial capital were not hit. The President and former Premier of Alberta, John Peterson, announced that Alberta would declare independence from Canada for economic reasons, with Calgary as the new capital. Calgary was chosen as the capital over Edmonton due to its size. Alberta's new government would be conservative, and very similar to the former US government.

In Early April, a plebiscite was held about the possible Columbian withrawal from the Commonwealth.

Baja California accepted California's offer of unification after holding a referedum. Only 57% of Bajan Californian population wanted to join California. Protests would rise up in the streets of Baja California as it merges with California.
The Second Confederate States of America agrees to split Louisiana with Texas and are waiting for the Texans to declare war of conquest against Louisiana.
Saskatchewan agrees to join Alberta, seeing that they're in a state of bankruptcy. Alberta would have to pay Saskatchewan's debts to numerous countries.
New England rejects Quebec's request of joining them and states that they would prefer to stay a sovereign country instead.
The Carribean Empire seem to be militarizing their army quite rapidly. An ultimatum was given to Central America to cede eastern land to the Carribean Empire or face a disastrous naval invasion. Central America, obviously provoked, agreed to give land to the Carribean.

Government : A republic. The economic reforms have somewhat worked, reaching the target goal for a raised salary. Other things include increased GDP growth, increased economic output, and increased number of infrastructure project. Economy : We begin spending approximately A$ 10 million on infrastructure projects. We start a heating program. State-sponsored and funded companies will try to produce a mega-heater unit in Juneau. Approximately A$ 1 billion will be spent.
Military : The "military" is the ACF. The ACF consists of the ANG, AAP, and ACG. We seek to militarize the ACF more. A new tank, codenamed "Polar Bear", will be designed and produced. Its features are withstanding freezing temperatures while still having the features of a regular tank. It's armament is also classified. We also begin a transport plane bidding to local aerospace companies to produce a new transport, codenamed "Arctic Shell". It's designs might look like a C-17 and C-130 combined with the capacity of a C-5 Galaxy. Other brand-new designs are being made as well.

Backstory: When the bombs dropped Seattle was one of those cities that were hit, though not before launching nukes that were stationed in the surrounding areas. Because Seattle was hit it crippled a lot of the economy and damageed the Puget Sound region a lot, which has now become irradiated. Following that Washington was declared an independent country, with it;s capital being moved to Spokane which had been unscathed. Because of these events a massive shift happened in the political demographics with conservatives becoming much more poweful in the country.

2061 presidential elections:
Campaigns: Far-right candidate Charles Engels gave a speech on January 11th, 2061 on Washington's intention to unify with Oregon into Cascadia. Engels said that as a president he would stop this aggresive policy, finding it unacceptable that Columbia wouldn't take part in the creation of Cascadia. He also stated that 'a nation should not ally with a state filled with arrogance'. 'The current Washingtonian military presence near our rightful soil is an act of agression, if not worse than that'. Engels also said that he is worried about Alberta's expansion. Meanwhile, isolationist candidate Angelina Maas says that she is highly worried by 'mr. Engels' fascist words'. She describes Engels as a neo-nazi and the Cascadian Party as far-right. Meanwhile, progressive candidate Edward Lighten states that the Commonwealth of Columbia is a 'peace-loving state', and that the Columbian policy shall be collaboration, not force.

On June 29th, Cascadian Party leader Charles Engels issues a statement describing President Angelina Maas as a 'mentally ill communist psychopath'. On July 2nd, Commonwealth Party leader Edward Lighten calls for a plebiscite on the military abolition question. He also advices President Maas to file a lawsuit against Engels. Backstory: Hours after the Washingtonian invasion, President Angelina Maas declares that 'the Columbian government condemns the Washingtonian intervention in Columbian internal affairs'. Then, the Columbian government disappears. It is said that they fled to Hawaii. After fully occupying the Commonwealth of Columbia, the Republic of Washington started looking for members of a new provisional government. James Edward Lewis, the mayor of New Westminster, the new capital of the Commonwealth of Columbia, became the new President of the provisional government. Lewis stated that 'together with the Washingtonian Armed Forces, we will restore peace and prosperity in Columbia. We, the people of the Commonwealth of Columbia, can proudly declare that we do not want to have a fascist Columbia.
