Mappers in the Wild (a.k.a. MITW, Mappers in the Wild Original (MITW Original), Mappers in the Wild 1 (MITW1), or Mappers in the Wild I (MITW I)) was the first map game in the Mappers in the Wild series. It was started by Happydance9 in "Mr grammar corrector" on Argon16's wall (the Spam Day thread) as a war between Ethan and himself on May 27, 2014. The war was due to a dispute over Happy cheating in Time Machine Escape (which started as a thread map game just like MITW). MITW1 continued in "Hey" on EthanConquistador's wall on September 10th, 2014, and was revived by Monsoonjr99 on February 21, 2015. It became quite popular for the rest of February, and remained popular until it died on March 7, 2015. The game officially ended on March 31, 2015, when Monsoonjr99 declared that Casetaira had "won" the game.

History of the Map Game

The History of Mappers in the Wild can be divided into 6 eras. The Early Classic Era, the Late Classic Era, the Revival Era, the Exploding Era, the Space Age, and the Dying Era.

Early Classic Era

Like the Early and Late MervueMeringue Eras, the classic era can be divided into two parts. The Early Classic Era happened on May 27th, 2014, as a war involving Happy, Ethan, MikiPL004, and Drex. The game died after Happy was defeated.

Late Classic Era

Miki's revival on September 9th, 2014. The game was moved from "Mr grammar corrector" to "Hey". It died after one of Yigit's turns because nobody cares about Kebab.

Revival Era

On February 21st, 2015, Monsoonjr99 revived the game. Soon, other mappers started joining. This era saw the introduction of expansion beyond Originion, starting with Monsoonjr's addition of Great Jabril Isle.

Exploding Era

It can be debated when the Exploding Era began. It roughly began when the game became even moar popular, and turns started to be skipped due to people posting at the same time. The thread exploded in length throughout this era.

Space Age

When nations started of into spacings. This era was short-lived.

Dying Era

Due to the thread getting very long, and the fact that the map was getting so big that wikia couldn't render it correctly, the map game died on March 7, 2015. After a few failed attempts to revive it, and the creation of Mappers in the Wild 2, Monsoonjr99 declared the game over on March 31, 2015 by making one of VoidViper's nations, Casetaira, the "winner."

Geography of the known world

Series adaption

On June 22nd, 2015, Pezminer12 (AKA MappingPez) announced in-Chat that he was going to make a series based off of the original game. Many Mappers approved of this, including SunnyKhan688, Miguelhdzb22, and Falkensteiner17. Frames were put into producted, and an episode of the series was announced to be released in early July or later. As of February 13, 2016, the episode still hasn't been uploaded.
