The hunter gatherers still rule over the vast lands that make up the world. Whilst small villages and towns start to form proto-civilizations. Europe is still stuck in the ways of tribalism while the Middle East is on the brink of a revolutionary era

I, Atlasium (TeCreator901), welcome you to Konig des Menschen (KdM). Starting in 4000 BC, this is the dawn of civilization and the tail end of the prehistorical era. The beginning of civilization is just kicking off in the Middle East.

The first game I have ever administered was Continent of Darkness: Europe, which was successful until its end. KdM is the first attempt at a truly grand scale Mapgame that will hopefully go on for many turns!

Join the KdM Thread for updates!

Turn XXI: 2300 BC[]

Kdm GREY EDITION

NPC Events[]

  • GLOBAL: Population has reached 15 million (based on current demographics in each country's turns)
  • Marroca and Valyria: Collectively known as "pirate states", they began invading Atlas. Marroca successfully settled in Sardinia, with one of their colonies being named Alghero.
  • Berbers: They seize the western hold of Imperium of Atlas.
  • Oman: Muscat is formed.
  • Xenomorphic Cults: The cult spreads further into the Akkadian and Ebla/Mari Empire and has started comitting to sabotage both armies to benefit themselves. Due to an intensive war between the proclaimed Mari Empire and the established Akkadian Empire, some resort to preach and eventually created the Pacifist Xenomorphs - unlike the traditional cults of the Xenomorphs. This version would spread in a popular fashion in the 24th century BC to 21st century BC.
  • Mari/Ebla: Ebla civilians declares a war of independence from the tyrant emperor Kashar as a century ago, his grandfather Elba II proclaimed the Mari Empire and replacing the Kingdom of Ebla, supposedly to unite the Havennan culture under one banner and rose to fight against the Akkadian Empire. However the Ebla civilians are increasingly intolerant of war and would negotiate with peace. Emperor Kashar took over the town of Xenomorpha in 2345 BCE. The proclaimed Mari Empire does not respond to the Egyptian Kingdom.
  • Jomon: The Yamato-Jomon nation of Kioku is formed.
  • Lustrians: The Lustrians migrate south and abandon the Rio Grande river, which could distrupt the Proto-Olmecs and the Gheotuk cultures altogether in one invasion by the next century.
  • Nubia: Nubians start copying Egyptian pyramid designs in the city of Meroe and are taking in freed slaves from Egypt.
  • Satich: An exiled state from the Akkadian Empire at the south is formed as the Satich Kingdom and they establish the city of Satich as well.
  • Carchemish: In Cilicia, the Carchemish nation develops and the city of Carchemish, dangerously close to the Akkadian Empire is established as well.
  • Biatal: Raiders from the Biatalian culture takes over villages of eastern Piedmont.
  • Indo-Europeans: The Indo-Europeans have started growing exponentially to have covered parts of Russia. They even have splinter cultures such as the Hittites.
  • Corded Ware/Catobos: Does not respond because it is a group of tribes not an empire.
  • Pithum'ar/Proto-Balts: They abandon the northern lands of Russia for the Baltics and have transformed into the Proto-Baltic people.
  • Sami: The Sami people develop.
  • Hittites: Migrants from the steppes of Europe have landed on the Pontic region of the Exuine Sea/Black Sea. They would eventually settle into the centre of Anatolia at the end of the 3rd millennium BCE.
  • Egypt: Expansion towards Cyrenaica stops when a group of invaders tried to plunder the lands of the west and succeeded. Their colony on Cyprus has also collapsed considerably (according to the map Tenacious did) due to the lack of supplies and ships needed in self-sufficency plus settlers there became unaligned with the dynasty. Beekeeping and a courier system is developed in Egypt.
  • Farmers' Revolts: 40,000 farmers and 8000 militia rose up in the Nile river to get farmers a higher hierarchy and be supported with value rather than being the ones that substantially supporting the food system. This is called the Egyptian Farmers' Revolt.
  • Nordika: Fully collapses into an advanced culture - where their culture still exists but the state as it is does not exist.
  • Mjemba: This culture is being fully integrated into the Bantu as the Bantu continue to expand into the Congo Basin. (Don't need this anymore, the Bantu are better than a junk culture).
  • Israelites: The Kingdom of Israelite is founded.
  • Carcalonar: In a fear of pirates currently invading, they accept as long mutual protection would be guaranteed.
  • China/Second Xia: The dynasty itself is now in a third strife after the previous dynasty had finally wiped out, forming the Second Xia Dynasty and the Emperor replied that they have their own issues as some people inside the society currently has stances against the newly established dynasty.

Akkadian Empire[]

  • Government: An empire.
    • Leaders: Sin-Nashir III (2409 BCE-2399 BCE), Ko-Ghu (2399 BCE-2366 BCE), Satich VI (2366 BCE-2345 BCE), Ko-Ghu II (2345 BCE-2310 BCE), Sargon III (2309 BCE-present)
  • Military: We start to increase all of our soldiers by a factor of 3 and eliminate the human chariot thing. All of them by now wield a bronze sword, technically reserved for the professional soldiers, militia still use spears and poison to get along and roads would be a huge advantage to quickly defend a city form that invader.
    • Mainstream Military
      • 4600 professional soldiers
      • 24,000 militia
      • 10,000 militia archers
      • 400 horse chariots
      • 15 stone throwers
      • Five catapults
      • 500 horsemen
    • Imperial Guards: Loyalist.
      • 1500 imperial guards
      • 1500 imperial archers
  • Economy: War economy, although we prosper - some of the traders and farmers are concerned of it taking too far that their yields are reduced significantly. We have to end this as soon as possible.
  • Demographics: Urbanisation is on a rapid decline thanks to the incentives of farming opportunities in the Fertile Crescent and Akkad becomes the largest city. However, to put into that perspective, using rural zones are a perfect way to conscript and arm people on that area without having to send one army there.
    • Population: 316,600
    • Religion: 89% Mesopotamian faith, 10% Mesopotamian cults (on Sargon), 2% Xenomorphic cults
    • Cities
      • Uruk: 25,000
      • Ur: 11,000
      • Lagash: 30,000
      • Akkad: 69,000
      • Assur: 23,000
      • Nineveh: 28,000
      • Xenomorpha (Occupied): 600
      • Ne-Assur (Ryssu): 13,000

    • Ethnicity: 20% Sumerian, 22% Lagash, 44% Akkadian, 5% Assyrian, 8% Havenna, 1% Xenomorphic Havenna (even more?)
  • Research (new sweet layer): Forge of Empires style.
    • Phalanx Tactic: We began researching on the phalanx tactic to outlast the Akkadian military a little longer in case of an invasion has being made by the west. Scheduled to be done at 23rd century BCE.
  • Events
    • War against Mari/Iram: The war continues and our huge number of troops have started overwhelming the empire thanks to the Ebla Uprising, giving us some advantage as they won't hold two sides and they are spearheading towards the palace. They have effectively besieged the Palace by now but our chariots in the back and militia in the front tactic still keeps wiping out the anti-cavalry until somehow they began learning our tactic and potentially putting their cavalry first as they now realise their tactic. However we cut off their supply route and began besieging their capital city at the end of the century thanks to the reincarnation of Sargon (sorta)
    • Xenomorphic Cults: Worshippers of the xenomorphs continue to grow exponentially and it has disrupted us from making further advances - even on the other side as they occupied one of our towns, which is a Xenomorphic-majority religious one but not so much in extent. If this continues then the Akkadian Empire may slowly come to an end even after the war.
    • Reincarnation of Sargon: The reincarnation of someone named Sargon emerges in the late 24th century BC and has led to wider popularity within the Sargon cults that many Akkadian citizens worship or at least 10% of the population. Sargon promises that under his iron fist rule, the so-called Mari Empire will capitulate before he dies. He claimed that he has this "demi-god" characteristic from being named Sargon and blessed upon by Mesopotamian deities.
  • Diplomacy:
    • Iram/Mari: We can play war now.

  • Economy: Since the introduction of small wooden square tablets with Chinese numeral labels, the Feng Dynasty's economy was shaky but it had started booming when many of those who took advantage of this had become one of the more wealthy peoples in China. The Feng dynasty's economy is in a semi-war time economy.
  • Population: 38,600 (Due to high infant mortality in ancient times, birth rates became high as it is a gamble for babies to live past the age of 5. • Fortification of Valencia, Murcia, De La Plana: As the threat of war begins to grow, we begin a larger conscription and training for soldiers. We begin enhancing the walls of all cities and the defenses. Having water nearby to put out fires is necessary for every house in these cities.

    • Iberian tribes and cities: Anyone willing to join us, shall be welcomed with open arms

    • Carcalonar: Yup, it’s a mutual defense pact, both fleets will work together to fend off the invaders from both shores, also, create your own spotter network

  • Events: As the Marroco were more concentrated on Atlas, we were left in peace and allowed to become stronger. We expand further inland, uniting with the tribe of Llassomea, and south uniting with the tribal kingdom of Murcia through(Yet again) marriage of Raul III, the prince (at the time, but later to be king) of Valencia, and the daughter of Sammael, of Murcia. A ship from the far east (Akkad) arrived to our ports, along with them a “sword” this weapon much intrigued Esteban I, he wished to learn the way to create such an item, but metal is scarce in Iberia, so he sent some hundred men, to look for Iron, or a place to find it, and bring back.

Turn XXII: 2200 BC[]

Kdm 2200 bc finalex

Full map resolution from EthanKoenigsberg (not trimmed)

NPC Events[]

(EthanKoenigsberg is a crybaby, don't edit please for this part and it is messy, so maybe reorganising it to the Americas, Africa, Europe [+Middle East and North Africa] and Asia might be nicer)

  • Marroca and Valyria: The Pirate War would then spread into Iberia as well as the pirate king Esenos died at 2287 BC which was then divided into two kingdoms, one focusing on northern Africa and one focusing on European soil. Valyria's frontlines stall while West Marroca pillages Caracalonar to resupply East marroca and sustaining themselves for the next three centuries.
  • Xenomorphic Cults: The Pacifist Xenomorphic cult growth continues in the 23rd century BC and rose further in Akkad and Mari in population. However, these cults began causing more issues when a militaristic kind of Xenomorphic cult emerges called the Denya which calls for cultists to form their own kingdom or theocracy.
  • Mari: Although their government is deteriorating at an increased rate, they managed to besiege the city of Akkad as well and the Palace as well, making it a one on one suicide attack on each other. While Akkad has a "reincarnated" Sargon, Mari had a strategic choice on besieging the proper city.
  • Ebla: They finally put their lines in their offensives to a halt by the end of this century.
  • Lustrians: Maize (corn) cultivation is seen on the mid 23rd century BC in Mexico. Lustrians have started pushing even more southwards of Mesoamerica and has partially assimilated the proto-Olmecs. In retaliation, one of the chieftains Jetl is a strong proto-Olmec believer and would do anything to stop their further migration into the rainforests of Mesoamerica.
  • Amaiqac: The culture rapidly expands southwards into New England.
  • Ecuadorian culture and southern Peruvian/Atacama culture: These cultures have merged into one large culture which practically includes the Arano Kingdom and the Inca as one group as the Sedena.
  • Nordican culture: That culture expands rapidly similar to Amaiqac as the legacy of the republic lives on but slowly becoming forgotten as writing becomes obsolete for the Nordicans at this point except for hieroglyphic-like script to develop and pass on as stories in stone.
  • Vangira: The Vangira culture develops a warrior culture.
  • Koutles: Koutles culture develops a similar warrior culture, while their rivalry of the Vangira actually didn't stop yet, they expand south to where the Sedena would begin to meet.
  • Anasazi: A southwestern American culture develops.
  • Farmers' Revolts: Due to the sheer low numbers that the Egyptian military currently has, the rebellion gains swaths of land blocking cities of Thebes and Memphis and decimated 70% of the current Egyptian military. The farmers in this dynasty is led by pretender Sanakht II of the Anket Dynasty who changed the social hierarchy to meet the standards of the rebelling farmers and workers on living conditions.
  • Xia: As things stabilise but increasingly worried of further secession wars, Tianzhu proposed to the Feng dynasty they could be under their rule as long autonomous ruling for their own culture (Han) is in place.
  • China: Diversification of cultures began emerging, there are at least few more significant tribes including the Zhi, Ma and the Naxhi mostly in central China.
  • Hittites: Hittites begin migrating inland of Anatolia (Asia Minor). Some of the Hittites have settled and founded the city of Hattusa, near the state of Vordalkien.
  • Mycenae: The city itself prospers with the Minoan Kingdom exchanging ideas and culture with each other but new ideas by local Greek people of a new idea, an independent and unified kingdom but it isn't in effect as some claim the right of king.
  • Gojoseon: Gojoseon, a nation out of the Korean culture group starts to form. The Gojoseon dynasty controls much of the Korean peninsula and consider Mt. Paektu a sacred place and a trip for their king after walking "a thousand ri" without the aid of horses or anyone - which makes the king a proven king but often a dangerous task and it depends on each king has put their capital. Due to multiple kings usually moving their capital multiple times, there is no proper capital.
  • Kiths: Avid conqueror and explorer Kithar the Great conquers the nation of Elam - moving the capital of the Kiths to Elam and founded multiple cities under his rule, including Kithenia. They also found the Indus Valley civilisation (or the Harappa) and have conducted multiple trades with the west and east.
  • Vordalkien: The city of Ottozul develops and is declared capital.
  • Israel: Sodom and Gomorrah are founded as settlements and they would also eventually be razed to the ground potentially by other invaders or maybe up to the greed of other Israelite tribes. Israelites don't have a proper capital yet.
  • Iberian invaders: These invaders have no reason but to pillage stuff and they raided the city of Murcia and taken some stuff to sustain themselves and refine their technology to experiment a siege weapon asides from ladders and battering rams, also they did climb over walls using ropes and took down walls using a battering ram to bypass gates.
  • Unetice: This culture develops in modern Czech Republic and expanded further into Poland and Slovakia.
  • Hale Bopp comet: This comet has passed through Earth for few days in 2270 BC before dissappearing.
  • Hjaltland: The Queen of Hjaltland or Empress as she calls herself saw this comet as a big omen and an uprising in Bergen occurs which a local Nordic lord, who dislike the rule of women rose to power and seized the city under his rule and proclaiming the Kingdom of Bergen. Meanwhile settlers from Hjaltland move to northern Scotland and colonise it for the queendom. One of the settlements based on the Orkney Islands, Jarvik is established and its capital has being moved from Bergen to Jarvik because of the current uprising.
  • Isles of Albion (British Isles): The Bellbeaker culture collapses in the British Isles and created the Albioner culture or just called Albion. They are a group of proto-Anglo-Saxons and Nordic people with partial influence from continental Europe. This also led to the creation of the Confederation of Caledoni, the first Albioner state (excluding the Nordicised state of Albion and Harvenborr which the Queendom of Hjaltland conquered once).
  • Djibouti: The Djiboutians invade Yemen.
  • 42,000year Event: The 4.2 kiloyear BP aridification event was one of the most severe climatic events of the Holocene period.[1] Starting in about 2200 BC, it probably lasted the entire 22nd century BC. It has been hypothesised to have caused the collapse of the Old Kingdom in Egypt as well as the Akkadian Empire in Mesopotamia, and the Liangzhu culture in the lower Yangtze River area.[2] The drought may also have initiated the collapse of the Indus Valley Civilization, and southeastward habitat tracking of its population,[3] as well as the migration of Indo-European speaking people into India.[4] (copy paste from wikipedia, fight me)

Akkadian Empire[]

  • Government: Reformed into an dynastic electoral monarchy with an empire tier so one dynastic member (son or brother) is chosen. However this government became unstable after Sargon III finished off the Mari Empire.
    • Leaders: Sargon III "the Great" (2309 BCE-2267 BCE), Niiqquulamuusu (2267 BCE-2256 BCE), Laqip (2256 BCE-2234 BCE), Seluku (2234 BCE-2219 BCE), Gozer III (2219 BCE-present)
  • Military: Our military recruitment stops at this point after most of the military (apart from that army that is near the capital city of Akkad and surrounding our great palace), we start looking into training and research qualities.
    • Mainstream Military
      • 5000 professional soldiers
      • 18,000 militia
      • 8000 militia archers
      • 400 horse chariots
      • 15 stone throwers
      • Five catapults
      • 500 horsemen
    • Imperial Guards: Loyalist.
      • 2000 imperial guards
      • 1500 imperial archers
  • Economy: While finishing off Mari is done, the economy goes into a great depression afterwards due to the war and we are going back to the normal conventional economy which put a huge strain upon the whole economy. Gold starts to inflate as well.
  • Demographics: The population starts to stop growing or has slowed down significantly and many began relying on rural areas to do the job of feeding them and the Xenomorphic cults have rapidly expanded due to the brink of collapse of the Akkadian Empire and people believe that they could believe in exenomorphs to survive the onslaught and refuse food for the rest of the population.
    • Population: 340,600
    • Religion: 70% Mesopotamian faith, 15% Mesopotamian cults (on Sargon), 10% Xenomorphic cults
    • Cities
      • Uruk: 25,000
      • Ur: 11,000
      • Lagash: 30,000
      • Akkad: 70,000
      • Assur: 23,000
      • Nineveh: 28,000
      • Xenomorpha: 600
      • Ne-Assur: 13,000
      • Mari: 12,000
      • Rural areas: 90,000
      • Other settlements: 50,000
    • Ethnicity: 20% Sumerian, 10% Lagash, 59% Akkadian (peak), 5% Assyrian, 2% Havenna, 4% Xenomorphic Havenna (even more?)
  • Research (new sweet layer): Forge of Empires style.
    • Phalanx Tactic: Done.
  • Events
    • Abuse: As the city of Mari falls and its army had being attacked by a fully defensive force of militia and professional soldiers in the early 23rd century BC, many Akkadians praise success and made all surviving soldiers of the remaining army as slaves and are forced to work in expanding the Akkadian Empire to the north but there is another catch...
    • Xenomorphic Cult Expansion: Thanks to war and probably because of the obsession of Xenomorphs, the Xenomorphic Cults have started to expand further into Mesopotamia and have started overrunning many local Sargon cultists and even violence intensified in both Xenomorph and Sargon cultist areas. Some people have started pushing their xenomorph beliefs into something even more radicalised and diverse, making this religion effectively polytheist rather than one god and a set of xenomorph demigods, rather 10 gods and a lot of servants in place.
    • Brink of Collapse: As these cults dangerously expand and made further commitments to stop the Sargon cults, the Akkadian kings have started to become tired of their attempt to wipe out Sargon the Great (the first Sargon) legacy and further made crackdowns to it. However their numbers just multiply as more of their own xenomorph servants are become practically gods and tried to amass riches for their own afterlife

  • Diplomacy:
    • Iram/Mari: We can play war now.

The tribe of Tencuo, a small warrior tribe that’d plagued the trade routes of tribal kingdoms and Valencia in the region was invaded by the Horsemen, quickly taking out the small tribe of 3000, of whom 1200 were poorly equipped bandits. A large fort was built where the tribe of Tencuo used to stand, it acted as a trade and defense city.

    • As the Iberian invaders from west of Murcia came, the defenders saw that they used siege machines, and they reported back to the king, who decided it was time to make their own siege machines, battering rams and a type of catapult were created.
