History[]

Equalist Republic (2015-2017)[]

In September 2014, in Iguala, Guerrero, 43 students of a rural teacher's school were kidnapped while they traveled to a protest. The official version says that the students were detained by the municipal police (whom had been ordered to get rid of the students earlier that night) in the highway to Iguala, and that they were taken by the policemen on trucks and then given to a drug cartel called "Guerreros Unidos". The case caused massive controversy among national media, the corruption of the authorities was more obvious than ever, and people began protesting soon, the situation became more and more unstable as the mayor of Iguala and the governor of Guerrero were forced to renounce. Abarca (the mayor of Iguala) and his wife were found to be the intellectual authors of the attack, and they were captured in the outsides of Mexico City a few months later. However, even if the "responsibles" were captured, the people kept protesting through 2015, as Peña's government was seen as incompetent because of their little advance in thw Ayotzinapa case. During the political turmoil, a faction known as "The Equalists" lead by Miguel Hernández was formed, they seeked to establish a socialist republic in Mexico. Meanwhile, political unrest and instability continued to increase, and by mid 2015, Mexico was already a failed state. The people had enough, and in July 2015 nearly all armed opposition forces united under the banner of Hernández. They declared war on Peña's government, and even gained some support in the circles of the mexican military, which allowed them to take over the presidential residency in August. The revolution lasted for at least 3 months, until Peña was finally captured and assassinated by opposition forces along with most of the distinguished PRI figures, although there were not many casualties. The Equalist Mexican Republic was soon established and Miguel Hernández took over as leader. In the other hand, Miguel Hernández was able to expand diplomatically into the Central American nations of Guatemala ans Belize, although not all Central Americans were happy with this.

During the period of the Equalist Republic, strict rules on the private companies were put in effect, trying to favor national and small business. The rich were also highly taxed and Hernández made a new article on the Federal Constitution to set a limit on what the personal fortune of an individual should be. In the international stage, Mexico became way more participative, joining the Fifth International and participating in multiple wars, such as the war against ISIS. They also gained a particularly tense relation with both Australia and Bulgaria, since coalition wars were planned against both nations but never became a reality.

However, the United States invaded the Baja California peninsula in March 2017, starting the second Mexican-American war. Due to the USA being part of the GC and Mexico being in the FI, a diplomatic conflict ensued between the two organizations. Eventually, the USA agreed to withdraw from Baja California in order to prevent WW3 between the FI and the GC, thus ending the second Mexican-American war. Meanwhile, the mexican people started to protest against the government once again since they were not happy with Mexico's extensive interventionism and aggressivity in foreign matters, and also because Hernández did not pay much attention to domestic issues. The protests became bigger everyday, and Hernández presented his renounce on October 10, since he wanted to avoid the same destiny that the man he overthrew had.

Expansion and the Third Mexican-American War (2017-2021)[]

After Miguel Hernández renounced to his charge, a new president for Mexico was needed since nearly all the cabinet of Hernández renounced as well, and a temporal president could not be placed. Because of this, extraordinary presidential elections were prepared immediately, with four major candidates running for the charge; Manlio Fabio Beltrones from the Good for All coalition conformed by PRI-PVEM-PANAL, Margarita Zavala from the Alliance for the Change coalition conformed by PAN-PRD-PES, Jaime Heliodoro Rodríguez "El Bronco" running as independent, and Andrés Manuel López Obrador from the United Left Coalition conformed by MORENA-PT-MC. Elections were held on November 1st and AMLO came out as winner with an extremely narrow margin, getting 42.1% of the votes compared to Zavala's 41.9%. El Bronco got 10% of the  votes, and Manlio Fabio from the PRI-PVEM-PANAL Coalition only got 6% of the votes, which was quite surprising at a national level, since the lowest percentage of a PRI candidate was 38% until now. AMLO started his mandate on January 1st, 2018. During his mandate, AMLO promoted nationalism, particularly indigenism (the ideology that highlights the indigenous origin of Mexicans) and greatly militarized the country, increasing the number of active troops and armored vehicles. He also increased the participation of Mexico in Global affairs.

After the Fifth International collapsed, Mexico joined the Golden Commonwealth in order to remain in a major alliance. During this period, south New Zealand was acquired as a colony after it was split between Australia, Samoa, Mexico and Bolívar. However, a new threat soon appeared, the New World Order. The NWO was first discovered by Mexico after a secret meeting between Nordic and Mexican diplomats, where the Nordics revealed NKU's plans to dominate the world and take down the Golden Commonwealth, inviting Mexico to take part in the plan. Mexico initially agreed on keeping the entire plan a secret, gaining the trust of the NKU. However, Mexico soon leaked the plans of the NKU and the Golden Commonwealth declared war on the New World Order.

Mexico actively participated in the war against the NWO, sending troops and conducting airstrikes in Chile and the NKU. Eventually, when the war finally ended, AMLO though that Mexico should be rewarded for leaking NWO's plans to the world, and he demanded the ceding of Chilean Patagonia and Iceland. However, Mexico's demands were seen as illogical by the members of the Golden Commonwealth and a diplomatic conflict ensued, which ended with Mexico, Japan, the Bolívar and others leaving the Commonwealth. Iceland and Patagonia were then annexed.

In late 2018, the Mexican president (AMLO) suffered an assassination attempt during the first international meeting of the Confederation of Free States, in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The terrorists managed to escape through the Mexican-American border and were found to be part of an extremist pro-American group. Mexico sent a message to the USA government demanding the transfer of the terrorists to Mexican authorities, however, the USA refused, causing a diplomatic crisis. Mexico kept demanding the transfer of the terrorists but diplomacy was a complete fail, and Mexico finally declared war on the USA along with their allies in February 2019, after besieging the city of Brownsville, Texas, starting the Third Mexican-American War.

Mexican troops fighting in California

The USA was unable to contain the initial attack, as Japan, France, Colombia, Mexico, Japan and the MEF conducted coordinated attacks all over the American territory from Hawaii to NYC. Japan focused on attacking Alaska, Florida and Hawaii while the MEF attacked the northwest and the midwest, at the same time France attacked the East Coast while Mexico and Colombia focused on southern USA. Mexico was one of the main belligerents along with France, as they sent millions of troops to destroy the border patrol and to invade the american border states of California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Advances in New Mexico and Arizona were quick, as there are lots of mexicans in both of them and they are weak compared to California and Texas. Mexico tried to gain the support of the Mexican diaspora in the USA, promoting reunification with Mexico. By July, the battle of Los Ángeles (the second largest battle in the war against USA) had began and a deadly fight occurred, with thousands of casualties. However, Mexicans eventually managed to defeat the Americans after reinforcements from the MEF arrived. After the victory in Los Ángeles, the rest of California fell easily. In the Texan front, Mexicans advanced easily until they reached Houston, where their advances were halted by American troops. However, the French attacked NYC and Washington D.C, which forced most american troops to retire to defend the East Coast, allowing Mexicans to advance farther. By October 2020, Mexico had occupied California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas along with border areas in Louisiana, Oklahoma and Colorado. Utah and Colorado were taken by the end of 2020, and Oklahoma and Wyoming finally fell by early 2021. The war officially ended in May 2021, and the USA ceased to exist as a nation, forced to retreat to central USA and rename to Midwest Republic. Huge amounts of territory were given to the coalition, including all 1821 Mexican territories. The victory raised nationalism all over Mexico, and an era of development was expected.

AMLO's Empire and the Magnolia Revolution (2022-2024)[]

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador proclaims himself emperor of the New Aztec Empire

Once the Third Mexican-American War ended, Andrés Manuel López Obrador proclaimed himself Emperor Andrés I and renamed Mexico to Aztec Empire. Mexico City was also renamed to Tenochtitlán, as the old Mexica capital was once Calles. All of this was a result of the rise of the Mexica pagan religion (AMLO had converted to the Mexica religion himself), which tries to bring back the old religion of the Aztec peoples, including deities like Quetzalcoátl and Teztlatipoca but with some modified aspects (no human sacrifices). The Empire was well-seen by indigenous southern people, but white people in the north were uncomfortable with such empire. Rumours started to appear as AMLO became more authoritarian, some government officials talked about a genocide of the non-mestizo and non-indigenous population, because AMLO did not consider them "authentic Mexicans". In the following months, AMLO started taking measures such as making the state religion Mexica and restricting the Catholic church, as well as taxing white rich people higher. The people in the north were outraged, and the Magnolia Revolution started in late 2023.

The Magnolia Revolution consisted of pacific protests in Tenochtitlán/Mexico City, demanding the renounce of the Emperor and the return of Democracy. AMLO sent his elite "Eagle Warriors" to take down the protests, however, one of his high-ranked general part of the "Jaguar Warriors" (2nd strongest branch in the army) arrested him for "betraying the motherland"  and subsequently took power, putting an end to the short-lived Aztec Empire of López Obrador. General Sifo Díaz managed to calm down the protesters after informing the people about the destitution of Emperor Ándres. Díaz stated in his speech that he would not "become a fukin' corrupt rat" and that he would leave the charge as soon as elections were held. During his brief mandate, Díaz focusing on stabilizing the country and granting civil rights to all the population, he also changed the name back to "United Mexican States", although he kept the name Tenochtitlán for Mexico City and did not modify the national flag.

Second Mexican Miracle (2024-2042)[]

Ordinary presidential elections were held in July 2024, this time, thre were three front-runners; Francisco García Cabeza de Vaca, former governor of Tamaulipas from the PAN-PES coalition, Aurelio Nuño Mayer from the PRI-PVEM (PANAL was absobred into PRI) coalition and Rogelio Garza from the left Coalition composed by MORENA, MC, PT and the Democratic Party. Two other minor candidates also participated, Jesús Zambrano from PRD and Luis H. Álvarez (running as independent). Results gave the victory to Cabeza de Vaca with ~39% of the votes, surpassing Aurelio Nuño by almost 10 points and Garza by 13 points. Cabeza de Vaca's victory marked the return of PAN to the presidency.

Cabeza de Vaca assumed his mandate on December 1st and he focused on solving the economical problems caused by the recent crisis, increasing the participation of the private industry and making some corporate deals. His measures were proven to be effective after the economy grew 5% in one year. The economy continued to grow through all of Cabeza de Vaca's mandate and unemployment was almost eradicated, poverty dramatically

decreased and cities were modernized. Many developments were also done in the technological, scientific and military areas. Mexico also became quite stable during his government after years and years of constant political changes and wars. Because of the excellent performance of Cabeza de Vaca and his two successors as presidents, the period between 2024 and 2042 was nicknamed as "the Second Mexican Miracle", a reference to the Milagro Mexicano that occurred between 1930s and 1970s. Cabeza de Vaca ended his mandate on 2030 and PAN once again won the presidency with Manuel Clouthier JR. They would win a third time with Ricardo Anaya in 2036, making them rule for 18 years. During the mandates of Anaya and Clouthier the development that started in Cabeza de Vaca's term continued until early 2042...

Return of PRI and the Crisis of 44' (2042-2048)[]

Although National Action's (PAN) periods were of great economical prosperity and peace, they would lose credibility when videotapes of Ricardo Anaya receiving money from the leader of the Tlacuache Cartel (the last remaining big criminal organization in Mexico) were leaked. It turns out that all the peace achieved by previous PAN governments were possible thanks to "dirty agreements" with the leaders of Organized Crime. The Cartels would keep their activities under a low profile and avoid attacking civilians in return for protection of the government.
