Royal Federation of Tilea, also known as RF Tilea or Tilean RF in short form is a sovereign state part of the Imperium, a political entity and an economical alliance that covers most of Europe and functions as both OTL Commonwealth of Nations and OTL European Union typically. It borders with RF Gallia, Helvetia, RF Austria and RK Dalmatia and has a population of 126 million, making it the third populous nation in mainland Imperium.
Formed as the Tilean Confederacy since 1840s forcibly by Kingdom of Remas and the formation has led to a united expression and nationalism across the Tilean Peninsula. While and after as Remas had done before, the Tilean Confederacy has colonised in rivalry of the Angevine Empire, having to take over much of Western Australia as Euxilias and soon after, Africa at 1854. The Tilean Confederacy fought against the Karpatizic Empire successfully in the Tileo-Pannonian War (OTL Italian War of Independence; 1857-1859), gaining Tyranezia (OTL Veneto), Sudtirol and Istra during the war.
The Great War turned things around and the Tilean Confederacy broke up at 1898 after the Entente and allies have blamed and penalised the Tilean Confederacy for starting it, recreating Naples, Remas and Piedmont. Economical sanctions were already in effect for them and it wasn't until 1927, a fascist party just known as the Nationalist Party named as Vittorio Sidiccio took power on Remas and annexing Naples during the Remo-Neapolitan War (1931). Unlike OTL, genocide isn't considered much for them and is considered immoral after the Great War and Slavonic groups were mostly tolerated by the Axis. During the Second Great War (1932-1938), Remas never reformed to Tilea and insist the Rumans are the pure and not the inferior southerners (Neapolitan). It eventualy led to the allied occupation between 1939-1942 to both Summea and Remas.
After the allied occupation, two sovereign states were founded, Royal Kingdom of Remas (North Remas) and the People's Republic of Remas (South Remas). Naples became the Socialist Republic of Ionia, however Piedmont was annexed into Remas once again. The Ionian Revolution at the 1950s had led to the first step of reuniting the Tilean region and in 1961, South Remas eventually became locked to the Imperium. Massive protests and a pro-monarchist organisation formed and lasted for one week and a half. This led to the reunification of Tilea in 1964 and the restoration of democracy.
Due to the Imperium advancing in the 21st century further than the United States of America in this TL, Tilea is currently ranked 6th in economy and currently leads a high level of development.
